Mellie C. from Georgia shares an encouraging story about the power of connecting with others and how Yerdle allowed her to save money on things she needed. Here’s Mellie’s story:
“Times were really hard and I was having a tough time being able to afford sippy cups for my two-year-old son.
Honestly, they are more expensive than you think. I was so stressed about the other kids at my son's daycare having nice, new, name brand sippy cups, with superheroes, and characters on them.
The good kind...the kind that don't just have a good seal, but also look cool on top of actually working. It was embarrassing, depressing, and stressful.
He also needed more socks. Crazy huh? Cups and socks; not exactly luxury items or impulse buys.
A beautiful kind fellow Yerdle member posted a bundle of sippy cups....and threw in like 10 pairs of toddler socks.
It was a very positive and redefining moment for me. It made me realize that getting connected with others was possible and that they were willing to trade with me.
Even though I didn't have "a lot,” I had the capacity to connect someone with something they really needed.
You never know how big of a deal something you no longer use can be for someone else...the difference between security and anxiety, a need met and a need not being met.
I adore Yerdle.”
You never know how the item you’re giving can impact a fellow member. Do you have a story or tips to help new Yerdle members?
