Kathleen B. of Cortland, NY (population 19,000) wrote us about her local SPCA: “This shelter had a chemical spill that caused hazardous fumes three months ago and had to dispose of everything that was porous. They are basically starting over [to accumulate] those needed supplies.
This non-profit is struggling to remain a no kill shelter which is difficult in a rural farming community. The animals housed in the shelter will benefit from the grant two-fold. First, the animals will be cared for and comforted by the items. Second, the funds that would have been spent to pay for these items can now be funneled into health care and cat care, since no government or county funds are received for their care or housing.
We need pet foods, animal related items, carriers, bedding, towels, litter, litter boxes, scoopers, cleaning products. Leashes, collars, vitamins, flea and tick meds, treats & bones.”
40 large Kong dog Toys
10 cases cat pate canned food
10 cases Clorox wipes
6 boxes of 3 tab file folders
6 boxes of 5 tab file folders
20 hand sanitizers
They also need: copy paper, End Dust, and “Have-a-heart” Animal Traps
Congratulations, Kathleen, and good luck with your #yerdlefund campaign!
